At IDA, we constantly transform Singapore's infocomm landscape to create an increasingly vibrant and economically competitive environment. As we move towards building an infocomm-empowered world, we need visionaries who are able to harness the power of technology to enhance our world. If you aspire to make history with your work, apply to IDA for a career that is both satisfying and rewarding.

You will be joining a small, agile and multi-disciplinary team of policy makers, software engineers, data visualizers and statisticians passionate about using data and digital solutions to improve public service delivery and the lives of Singaporeans. We believe that digital technology and data can revolutionize the way public goods are delivered and are convinced that there is a need to prototype and demonstrate the power of digital solutions to drive this change.

As a Software Engineer, you will develop and prototype, from scratch, web and mobile public transport applications which will enable modes of public transport to grow. These applications will bring data to bear to enhance the matching of commuters to suppliers and ultimately improve the public transport experience for Singaporeans. You will also have the opportunity to work on other projects in developing digital and data products.

  • Strong programming skills, ability to write clean and readable code and experience in developing highly usable digital products
  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines
  • Experience with front-end develpment (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript), server-side web development (Phython, PHP, Ruby on Rails) and databases (MySQL, MongoDB). Deep expertise in one of these areas and familiarity with the others is preferred.
  • Passion for the use of technology to improve public services and citizen experiences
  • A get-things-done attitude and willingness to learn from other team members in a multi-disciplinary team is important
  • Experience from working in a start-up environment is a bonus
